Mr. Williams was a wonderful teacher and I know that many, like me, have the best memories of him. 'Uncle Roy' was my English teacher in grade 10 at Malcolm Campbell High School. He was always encouraging ...and funny. He was open enough to share some of his life with us. One funny story to share: Mr. Williams lived in Morin Heights and would drive into Montreal on Sunday evening to spend the week, returning home on the weekends. Doris, of course, wanted to know that he had arrived safely in Montreal, but long distance calls were expensive in those days. So Roy would make a person-to-person call to the dog (i forget his name ..say Bob. The operator would ask for Bob and Doris would say that Bob was not in at the moment. So... Doris got her reassuring call and there was no cost at all! Wish I could remember the dog's name.
Anyway ... my condolances go out to Doris and all the family ... may you be comforted by your own special memories of Roy and in the knowledge that he touched many lives for good - an that is truly a wonderful legacy. May he rest in peace.

The one teacher, that I had, that made a difference. You taught English like no other teacher I had. I remember the first class with him, he had on the board the number of days left in the school year and refreshed it everyday. Rest in peace Mr. Williams knowing that you have influence so many of your students. I will alway remember you. My deepest sympathy to your family. (Malcom Campbell High class of 69)

Sad to learn of Mr. Williams passing. Yup, 'Mr. Williams'... anything else would have seen us marched to the Principlal's office. But it was easy to refer to Roy as Mr. Willams. He captured our imaginations, mentored us grade 10ers along (not sure that was eay) and today, many of us immediately recall that fondly remember him and the role he somehow played in our futures. May the family know no further sorrows... Ian

"Mr. Williams" taught me English at Malcolm Campbell High School in the late 60's. He was an inspirational teacher, and by far the best one I ever had. I regret I did not keep up with him over the years, and had not been able to tell him myself what a positive influence he had on me. He encouraged expression of, and respected, differences of opinion - unlike any other teacher I ever had. My sincerest condolences to the family. RIP Mr. Williams
