I have known Jim for many years. We often worked on the same projects where he was the Geotechnical Expert. Once we travelled to Peru for field work at the Mantaro Hydro Project. From Lima we drove over the continental divide of the Andes to get to the Mantaro River on the Amazon side.
Jim was a steady advisor and a gentleman.
Sincere condolences to the family.

Having known Jim since the 1970's, he will be remembered as a wonderful colleague, kind friend, and gentleman. I will miss the quiet chats we shared at the lunches he organised.
My deepest sympathy to his wife and family for your great loss.

I knew and respected Jim for his engineering knowledge and expertise in geology related to hydro plant design. We, at ShawMont in St. John's, NL consulted with Jim frequently. I also respected him for his pleasant personality. While I did not have the pleasure of knowing his family, I send them my condolences and best wishes at this difficult time.

A good friend and colleague who will be dearly missed.

I worked with Jim on many projects and always found he was able to provide sound insight on the geotechinical aspects to the benefit of the ongoing analysis. I had not realized he had moved to Ontario, as have we. My sincere condolences to the family.

I worked very closely with Jim for over 25 years as his as his deputy. He was a vary capable engineering geologist and one of the nicest persons I have ever met. He was also very generous, always eager to let others benefit from his vast knowledge and expertise. It was a great pleasure to be with him in the office and on site trips. May God rest his soul in peace. I have lots of very good memories of time with this great person. I met with him in mid-May this year and he,vey happily, talked about the life stories and experiences. Attached is a photo of the visit with him. Let us all celebrate his well accomplished life.

I have known Jim since we first met up in Calgary in the early 70s and we followed somewhat parallel career paths ever since... both based in Montreal and living on the West Island.

We had much in common and got together frequently, usually for a pub lunch and to compare notes. He was a good friend with a dry sense of humor and a very good engineer. He will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to Gretchen and the family.
