AVON LAKE - Doris E. Kopowski (nee Schwartz), age 89, entered into rest Thursday, November 7, 2013.
She was born on April 9, 1924 in Avon, Ohio. She lived in Avon Lake for 8 years coming from Rocky River and Bay Village. Doris was a homemaker and was associated with Tupperware in the 1950's and 1960's. She was a founding member of Holy Spirit Parish in Avon Lake; she was also a member of Avon Lake Young Spirits, and Associate of Brother Andre, St Joseph Oratory, Montreal Canada. She enjoyed gardening and an avid reader.
She is survived by her children Lenny L. (Barbara-dec'd) of Melbourne, KY., Larry M. (Stephanie) of Fairfield, Ohio, Mary Ann Bergan of N. Ridgeville, Ohio and Kathy Von Duhn of Avon Lake; grandchildren Dana (Rick) Bird, Andrea (Jim) Keating, Scott (Carrie) Von Duhn, Jon Von Duhn, Maria Bergan, Peter (Leslie) Bergan, Julianne Bergan, Natalie Bergan, Luke Bergan, and Alex Kopowski; great-grandchildren Kimberly and Sean Keating, Brooke and Josie Bird, Aidan and Ethan Vinson, and Ari Von Duhn, sister of Rita Druso and Corrine Laule, aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Kopowski; brothers Eugene Schwartz and Carl Schwartz and sister Roseanne Frye.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 10, 2013 from 2-6 P.M. at the MISENCIK FUNERAL HOME, 36363 Detroit Rd Avon. Funeral Mass Monday at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Spirit Parish, Avon Lake. (MEET AT CHURCH). Interment Holy Trinity Cemetery, Jaycox Rd.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Spirit Food Bank or Children's PSR Program.
