Dear Mrs. Hammer (and Family)
I am so sorry to hear of the recent loss of your husband (and beloved family member). Both you and he influenced my life in such a positive way growing up (you, as my third grade teacher, and he, as my basketball coach at Learwood). Though many years have passed since I have seen either of you, the childhood memories you helped me create have always held a special place in my heart. May Mr. Hammer rest in peace, and may the knowledge that he touched so many lives in such a positive way help to soothe the pain of his passing. He will be dearly missed.
deepest sympathies-we trully were lucky to have him as an educator,he did his job well...thank you..

Dearest LaDene, it is with deeply heartfelt sympathy that I ecxtend to you and your family. As a student Pastor at Lake Shore, Chuch was my "go to" person when I neede good, sound advice. Even though it has been many years since I have seen both of you, you were never far from my heart. Chuck was a man of great faith. I admired him for his deep love of God, you, and his family. He truly exemplified courage, strength, and perseverance over the course of these past years. Not once did he complain. He brought out the best in people. His smile was contagious. Chuck inspired me. God has prepared each of us with rooms in His house, and I have no doubts that Chuck has settled into his new, eternal residence. I also know that when he died, God was waiting, welcoming him with open arms and saying, "Well done, good and faithful servant". May God bless you in the days ahead and always. With sincere love, Linda
My folks knew Mr. Hammer as a friend and fellow teacher. As a coach he made us all better players. He earned the respect of his students and made us all better people.
Dear Aunt LaDene and family,
My deepest sympathies and thoughts are with you. I have wonderful memories of Uncle Chuck growing up and am glad I got to see him one last time recently and to introduce him to my daughter. Love, Susan and Mike (and Genevieve) Patterson
You where the best Mr. Hammer

Dear Mr. Hammer! May you rest in peace. MANY years ago, my father fought the Avon Lake school board...and won...so that I could take Mr.Hammer's 7th grade wood shop class at Learwood. A friend and I were the first girls to take shop! Mr. Hammer was not only a great teacher, but treated us like every other student and encouraged us in every way. I still can't cook, but I can, and do, still work with wood and power tools! And I still have two of the projects I made in his class! I was happy to have him as a teacher for three straight years. So many of my teachers, I have forgotten, but never the time I was privileged to spend as one of Mr. Hammer's students. Jenni, and the rest of the Hammer family, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. May you take comfort in knowing how positively he touched SO many lives.
Our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Mike and Mary Shaw
