CANTON - Robert E. Nagel, age 83, of Canton, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013. He was born in Lorain, Ohio to the late Peter and Stella (Ruminski) Nagel.
Robert was a graduate of Lorain High School and John Carroll University. He served in the U.S. Navy for a total of eight years, two years active from 1952-1954 during the Korean War. Robert retired in 1992 from BFG Goodrich Chemical Company after forty-one and half years' service. He was member of St. Paul's Catholic Church of North Canton.
In addition to his parents Robert was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in 1999.
He is survived by daughters, Caryl (Robert) Clark of Dewitt, Mich. and Beth Ann Nagel of Avon Lake, Ohio; sons, Robert W. (Debbie Gallagher) Nagel of Pleasanton, Calif. and Randall W. (Sue) Nagel of Warrenton, Va.; grandchildren, Susan Hendler, Julia Nagel, Russell (Megan) Nagel, Alexander and Nicholas Clark; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Holly Hendler.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Paul's Catholic Church of North Canton with Fr. Stephen Zeigler as officiant. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. The procession will form at the church on Friday. Friends may call on Thursday 5-7 p.m. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave. N.W.
