My grandmother, Mabel Coates Montanelli, loved Irene and Nella, and always sent them a ministry check at Christmas. My mother, Shirley Prettyman, followed her tradition. I heard so many wonderful stories of their kindness to others growing up. My condolences to the family.
when we first moved to Mulberry she would bring us home made apple pie ,wonderful lady
Many and deep-felt condolences to survivors of Irene. But, for Irene herself, no sadness. She is now enjoying the reward of all that she worked for her whole life! She was a wonderful woman with a many-faceted personality!
Irene was an awesome Christian lady and minister. She was faithful to visit mother on a regular basis when she was unable to attend church and she came to visit her with some other ladies from the church when she was at Via Christi and hospice. In fact Irene accompanied some ladies from the church and they played and sang mother's favorite songs as she crossed over into Heavenly rest. It gave a new meaning to the phrase...and Heaven came down....His peace was in the room. (daughter of Dorothy Long)
