I separated from my spouse in 1962, in CT. I re-located back to TN w/ my children and lived w/ my widowed mother for almost 10 years; Mom was already watching Y&R, so I got hooked on it also. A short time after I began watching Kay Chancello, played by Jeannie Cooper was introduced. I loved her character AND the actress from the first day. And throughout the years I have 'taped' on VHS and now on DVR and now that I am retired I watch it daily again.
Have always loved Kay Chancellor as Jeannie Cooper. At one point, due to illness; I think; Jeannie was replaced by Michael Learned, who had been Mrs. Walton on that show for years. M.L. did a very good job for the time she was on the show; but we (the viewers) were surely happy when Jeannie came back... WE will all miss Jeannie as if she were a member of our family. And I wish to express my sorrow and Prayers to her family. Having lost my mother years ago, I know that that is not easy to deal with. but pray that her children can find comfort in the fact that Jeannie was a person of faith and that she lived her life thusly.
To her entire family I express my sincere love for Jeannie and want them to know how very much I have enjoyed seeing her acting in Y&R & other shows as well. I always watched Corbin's Show, where Jeannie played his mom; not sure but think the name was LA Law! Over the years I have seen her in several movies/shows and she always did a fantastic job of making you believe she WAS that person. I am very proud of Jeannie's entire career; I also believe that her role as a Mom/Gmother to her family is a stellar one. May God bless Jeannie's family during this difficult time.
