To Jim Luttrull
I remember when you came home from Vietnam
I remember all of the sun soaked days at the beach
I remember the water volleyball games
I remember the day you introduced us to Mitzi
I remember the day you married Mitzi
I remember you frantically searching for Mitzi's ring in the water when she lost it playing water volleyball
I remember when you first introduced us to little Jimmy
I remember when you first introduced us to Christopher
I remember all of the times we hit the lake in search of the toothy denizen of the deep Northern Pike
I remember all of the times you joined us on the Sally J trolling on Lake Michigan
I remember you jumping in at the 1st luau during the removal of the pig from the ground. You didn't know what you'd gotten yourself into at that moment but were there doing the same thing for the next 5 luaus
I remember drinking beers with you down at the beach during the hot days of summer and cool nights at the bonfires
I remember you coming out to play softball with us at the Maritime Festival when we were shorthanded
I remember you being there for Grandma after Grandpa died
I remember how Grandma lit up whenever you came to visit
I remember us jokingly raking the seaweed that had washed up on our beach back into the water when you were down cleaning your beach
I remember the finger that flew our way when we raked the seaweed back into the water
I remember how you beamed with joy when you talked about your grand kids
I remember how you almost cried the day we gave you the Sally J. You were so honored to have Grandpa's boat
I remember the thousands of bushels of tomatoes you brought Grandma over the years for her to can her tomato juice and Bloody Mary mix
I remember you hunting the tomato worms
I remember the night fishing
I remember you paddling your canoe with the fish finder hooked up to it looking for the Red October when we couldn't find it after we sank it
I remember the last time I saw you and even though you were failing, you were still Rambo
I'll always remember you and what a great friend you were to me and my family. No, you weren't just a friend, you were family. You will be missed Rambo. You will always be in my prayers. Enjoy the cold ones you're now having with your folks and my grandparents and mom. Love ya.
