My thoughts, prayers, and condolences are with the Southwell family. He was a great professional model for me as a new probation officer in the Muskegon office. I know he has left a great legacy which lives on in many of us.
My sympathies to the Southwell family. Lang was the consumate professional. He gave many of us a start in the Corrections profession. He led by example and respected everyone. We will miss him.
My thoughts are with the family. I remember visiting Lang in the house on Seminole & also through the years when visiting Suttons Bay. He was such a sweet, calm, kind, wonderful man. Surely an angel on earth, who is now able to rest.

Mr Southwell was my probation officer when I was seventeen. I've wanted to thank him many times for being there for me. Rest in peace, sir. You will never be forgotten. Condolences to the family.
