John Edwin DeVries

DeVries, John Edwin 10/13/1922 - 11/8/2015 Muskegon Mr. John Edwin DeVries, age 93, left this world at peace with Christ and having kept the faith on Sunday, November 8, 2015. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on October 13, 1922 to Richard & Gertrude (Vandenberg) DeVries and served his country in the US Navy during World War II. He married the former Lena Huisman in 1949 and lived happily with her until her passing to glory in 2004. He then met and married Eileen Tiggleman in 2005, who left this life in May. Mr. DeVries had been employed as an electrician for E.I. DuPont for 26 years until retiring. John was a member of Northside Bible Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, singing, cooking, canning, woodworking and working in his garden. He will be greatly missed. SURVIVORS Son, Stephen (Saundra) DeVries of North Muskegon; daughter, Susan (Robert) Pierce of North Muskegon; grandchildren, Troy (Jennifer) DeVries of FL, Kyle DeVries of Comstock Park, Tina (Andrew) Smith of MN & Nathanael (Megan) Pierce of MN; 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both wives; his parents; 2 sisters & 3 brothers. SERVICE Saturday, November 14, 2015, 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at Northside Bible Church with Rev. Lowell Wood officiating. Interment in Oakhurst Cemetery.
