Mrs. Lou Anne (Stenholm) Staffney, age 82, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013. She was born November 23, 1930 in Muskegon to David and Anna (Wiersma) Stenholm and was a life resident of the area. On June 9, 1951, she married Donald P. Staffney in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on March 12, 2012. Lou Anne worked at Sears for 27 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where she was active with the Woman's Guild. Lou Anne was an accomplished seamstress and chef extraordinaire. She enjoyed crafting and winning a good game of cards with her friends. Her legacy will live on with her two children, Cathy (Gary) Barnes of Dallas, TX, Vincent Staffney of Muskegon; four grandchildren, Tyler Barnes, Rylan Barnes, Cassie Lockhart, Charis Barnes; four great-grandchildren, Ascher, Kellan, Olivia, and Madeline. Lou Anne was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and four brothers. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 10:00 AM Monday, April 22, 2013 in Marian Chapel at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Philip P. Salmonowicz as celebrant. VISITATION will be held 9:30-10:00 AM prior to the Mass. INTERMENT will take place at Lakeside Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be directed to Harbor Hospice.
