Sally was a wonderful activist for social justice and the environment. Our congregation learned a lot from her as she organized speakers on environmental issues, book groups on racial justice and more. I will miss her laugh also and her kind and thoughtful ways. She was the one person I could count on to help me get the church garden growing and donate to the food pantry.

Dear Penny,Nate and all your family,
We are so sorry to learn about Sally. She and your Dad were very special and we enjoyed their company. We all have many good memories of wonderful times at the White Lake Yacht Club. May your good memories and the love of family and friends help you during this difficult time. Fondly,
Allan and Anne Dake

Dear Stan, Penny, Mike, Nate, Anne and Sally's beloved Grandchildren,
Our hearts go out to you with your loss.
We were honored to become friends with Sally upon her arrival in Portland. Through the few but rich years we shared both Sally and Stan's life celebrations, trips & good talks. Sally and I attended theater along with other events, always enjoying each others company and politics. Sally was much more and larger than her stature. We respect her for her dedication to her family and nature.
We miss you Sally, but the world is a better place since you shared it with us.
Thank you, The Zwerling's (Marc, Nancy, Blake & Maiya)

I was so very fortunate to share an office with Sally at MCC for many years. She was a confidant, a source of comfort when my mother became ill, invaluable when we were negotiating contracts, and a loving friend. She led a long, full life and was a model of kindness for many people. My thoughts are with you, her family.
