George E. Platt II
AGE: 67 • Palm Coast, FL
George E. Platt II, 67, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2014 near his home in Palm Coast, Florida. Born on August 28, 1946 to George and Irene Platt (both deceased) of Plainfield, NJ, he attended school in Plainfield and will be remembered as quite the track star. Shortly after graduating, George joined the United States Navy where he served during the Vietnam War. His professional career took shape as a graphic artist for the Johnson & Johnson Corporation in New Brunswick, New Jersey. On April 6, 1985 George married Sheila, his soul mate and lifetime love of almost 30 years. They relocated from New Jersey in 2007, dividing their time between Palm Coast, Florida and Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts. A very creative guy, George loved computers, handiwork, and stained glass design. Friends and family alike will cherish the beautiful pieces that George created over time. He was also an avid golfer and member of the Mink Meadows Golf Club in Martha's Vineyard and Grand Haven Golf Club in Palm Coast.
Above all, George will be remembered for his sense of humor and joy for life. He constantly made those around him laugh with a spontaneous comment or skeptical look. He had many friends in many cities, creating an eternity of memories and bonds.
George is survived by his wife Sheila; a son George Platt III of Tampa, Fl; one Sister Darlene "Dolly" Brown of Huntersville, NC; Mother-In-Law Doris Carter of Cinnaminson, NJ; Nieces Val (Brian) Daye of Huntersville, NC; and Aliya Carter of West New York, NJ; a nephew, Jared Daye of Huntersville, NC; and a host of extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 6 at 10:30 AM at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road S., Flagler Beach, Florida. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a repast at the family home.

George, when you came into our family, I was impressed by your elegance and quiet manners. Those impressions became a reality. I knew then that Sheila, who always strived for the best, had chosen the very best. We were proud of her choice. We were proud of you George. I knew Sheila was in the best of care. I knew that you were there at her side, no matter what the ills, you were her loving protector. You are now in a good place. Ask God that Sheila can continue without you. I love you. Sleep well George. Your Loving Mother-in-Law

To: Shelia, George III, Darlene (Dolly),Val and the entire family.
I am saddened to hear of the earthly death of my dear friend and brother.
George and I met in the 1960's and became close friends. We shared a love for MGB sports cars. I will always remember the love and kindness that his Mother, Father and Sister Dolly showed me. I recall the numerous times that I spent with the family watching football and other sports on TV. I was blessed to be allowed to call his parents Mom and Dad and to call Dolly, my sister.
I pray that the Lord Jesus Christ will comfort the family during this season in your lives.
Love, Christ Length:
