Anthony John Maddalone

formerly of North Plainfield and Piscataway

Anthony John Maddalone, son of Andrew and Christine(Verdiccio), loving husband, father, grandpa, life-long New York Yankees fan and homebuilder, peacefully surrendered his life in the early morning hours of Friday, May 24, 2013 after a short battle with cancer. Tony was born in Plainfield, NJ, and was a resident of North Plainfield and Piscataway. In his early years, he was a landscaper, apprenticed as a tailor and worked in the garment industry. A carpenter and custom homebuilder in central New Jersey for 35 years, he was the principal owner of KLM Builders, Inc. and later Superb Builders, Inc. He retired to the Jersey Shore, lived in Toms River, NJ and most recently resided in Tucson, AZ.

He follows into the Lord's care his beloved wife and eternal dance partner, Angelina Tramontano Maddalone and is survived by his daughter, Beverly Maddalone and life partner James Beverly of Tucson, AZ; son, Anthony (Judith Manley) Maddalone of Warren, NJ, as well as cherished grandchildren, Mary Ellen and Tony William and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and 7 brothers and sisters.

Tony's engaging personality and warm sense of humor will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. Donations in Tony's memory can be made to The Wounded Warriors Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org). A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at St. Bernard's Church in Plainfield at 10am. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains. The family will greet friends from 3pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm on Thursday, May 30 at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. To send condolences please go to higginsfuneralhome.com.
