Old Bridge
Lumila M. "Millie" (nee Littmann) Cannon, of Old Bridge, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 21, 2011, at home. She was a homemaker. Millie enjoyed gardening, was a member of the St. Ambrose Seniors and was a communicant of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Old Bridge. What was unique about Millie and one thing she was most proud of was having served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Born in Irvington, she resided in Old Bridge most of her life.
Millie is predeceased by her husband, the late Edward J. Cannon, in 1997. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Pam Cannon of Brick; a grandson, Jeremy of Sayreville; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Jason.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 23, with a Prayer Service beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Highway 9, Old Bridge.

Aunt Millie was the aunt who always had a freezer full of things from her garden and we had wonderful corn on the cob in the dead of winter; a special treat in the 50's. She was a kind, soft spoken and loving person when we visited her as children.
