Daddy,
The year as went so fast and it still feels like yesterday that I got that terrible news. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of you. The holidays are upon and it just does not feel the same. I may not have always seen you on the actual holiday but knew you were here with us and I could call or see your before or after. I miss you dearly, until we see each other again.
Love
Laura xoxo

It is with a heavy heart that I say my final goodbyes to a man I love and respect so immensely. The battle has been long and rough and I know that you're in a better place at peace. Your life has been rough and so many times when it seemed like it would be the end you came through. Heart of a bull my mom always said. Such a simple man with not a bad word to say about anybody when you had every reason to be bitter with life. With a work ethic of a true champion and unrealistic strength physically and mentally you're truly an old fashioned gem. With eyes blue as the sky and a sense of humor that never faded. A man of many trades and hobbies who was as tough as nails with secret soft spots for dogs and children. Always willing to help and took care of your own. It breaks my heart to see everybody so torn but the impact your parting has left really reflects who you were as a person.I can't tell you how bittersweet this is to know that I don't have you but its for the better. But to know I really do have you even more so now with me, is an incredible thought. I really wish I could have spent more time with you and gotten to know you as your healthy self But it's better this way. I'll talk to you soon.
