Growing up in Wasington, PA (outside of Pittsburgh), the Pirates dominated all baseball conversations! However, our next-door neighbor was Stan Musial's aunt (Mrs. Butella), and oh, how proud she was of her nephew! She convinced us kids that "Stan the Man" was the greatest ballplayer ever, despite playing for St. Louis!

Stan the Man was and will always be the Cardinal of all times. There will never be another like him. We, the fans, will never forget him. It has always been such a thrill to watch him both as a player and as an ambassador to the Cardinals. RIP Stan.

I saw Stan play for the first time in 1947. When I was turning 70, my daughter contacted Mrs. Musial to see if her husband would sgn a birthday card for me. She actually spoke to Mrs. Musial who did in fact have her husband sign a card for me. I will treasure that forever, along with the seat from the old Busch Stadium. Both Stan and his wife...a truly class act. RIP

I am so happy that my Mom and Dad took my brothers and myself to the ballpark. Great times and terrific memories of baseball in St. Louis during the 50's and 60's. So here's to you Mr. Musial....thanks for the great memories on and off the field. May STAN THE MAN rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of Stan's passing. He was my all-time favorite baseball player. A true gentleman and he played the game the way it should be played. May he rest in peace.

I was fortunate to grow up in St. Louis while Stan while still playing. It goes without saying that he was my hero.

Stan was my childhood HERO. My Daddy took me and my best friend to St. Louis for a game with the Brooklyn Dodgers and Stan hit a home run. To me he is the most underated player of all time. I will miss you and my prayer go out to the Musial family.
