To the Montero family, I had the wonderful opportunity of working with Monty during his tenure with OHFLAC in the behavioral health program. He was always the perfect gentleman and was a joy to work with. He will be sorely missed. May God bless your family during this time of sorrow.

If home is where the heart is, then I am always home as you, Nanny, will always remain in my heart!

Reflecting back, I cannot different my home in Barnesville, OH from the white house in Lakin, WVa, the red brick home on the hill in Weirton, WVa, and the many parks where our families met throughout the summer.

So much time together, I cannot recall my father's smile without feeling at home inside Uncle Pete's basement, watching him do the Hustle with Uncle Nanny, hearing him sing from beside the piano where Uncle Max was seated, or my father laughing skyward as Uncle Ray led him on with yet another story.

Of course, it is not just them ... as every gathering of the Montero's is standing room only. Kids pile atop one and other, to sleep through the night the long drive back home.

Uncle Nanny, you were always kind; perpetually present to raise our family's spirits; and forever welcoming to all who came to know you.

It is our turn to lift your soul into Heaven where you can sing, dance, and laugh with the others who have radiated similar light into this world.

God be with you always. And God willing, you will forever remain top of my mind.

Sorry, should I not make it back for your services. Know if I am not there in person, Lucia and I remembering our last visit with you and recounting the many times our families have shared.

Dr. Mozo/family: So sorry over the loss of Dr. Montero. He was always so kind and had a smile for everyone...lots of memories regarding friends/time of employment at Lakin (employees were like a close-knit family)! May you feel the Lord's presence as you look to Him for comfort, strength and peace. Take good care of yourself.

Tito Nany was my favorite uncle. I believe he is the best father to his children that I have met, and so many will miss you.

Deepest sympathy to Auntie Lina and all the children.

"DaNany" was a great light to everyone who was blessed to know him. How lucky I was that his family became mine years ago. To my Montero family, I love you all so very much. His love and legacy lives on in each of you. May God's love surround you and give you comfort.
