Ernest Locklear
ROWLAND — Ernest Locklear, 67, of Addison Tram Road, died Oct.16, 2013 at his home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Riverside Holiness Methodist Church, the Revs. William T. Morgan and Earney Hammonds officiating. Burial will follow in Lumbee Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Locklear was born in Robeson County on July 7, 1946.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Odell Locklear and Sadie Dial Locklear; his first wife, Thelma S. Locklear; and his second wife, Satrina Locklear.
He loved, and was known as Uncle Earnest to all the youth at Riverside Church.
He is survived by his son, Ronnie N. Locklear of Rowland; seven brothers, Fred Locklear, Tony Locklear and Rodney Locklear of Maryland, Jerry Locklear of Falling Waters, W. Va., James Earl Locklear, Stedwell Locklear, Louie Locklear and Elwood Locklear of Lumberton; his sisters, Alice Lehocky of Florida, Mary M. Myers of Maryland, Betty Sue Prevatte of St. Pauls, and Marie Locklear of Lumberton; several stepchildren; stepgrandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Sunday at Revels Funeral Home Lumberton, and other times at the home of his brother, Stedwell Locklear, the Clyborn Pines Community, 87 Southfield Road, Lumberton, N.C.
