Sending my love and support to the family. It was an honor to be a part of his family and I'm so thankful my children had the chance to get to know their Great-Grandpa Robert McGowan, Sr. I will never forget his laugh :)

Robert McGowan was my Grandpa. Not because we were blood relation, but simply because he had a generous heart that loved my Grandmother, ALL of her children and the grand kids too! I am thankful for the memories shared. He had exciting, interesting stories, the best stamp collection I have ever seen and amazing doll houses he built and furnished w/ miniature furniture. He was just easy and cool to be around.
Maya Angelou wrote,"I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
This is very true for Mr. Robert McGowan, may he forever rest in peace.
I Was truly blessed to have had such a wonderful man in my life. I had the pleasure of caring for him and being apart of his life and the lives of his wonderful family. He could always make me laugh. He will truly be missed He was and will always be my Fav Navy Man. He will be in my heart FOREVER!
Tiger, I have often thought of your Dad and how sweet he was. He was a talented, generous man with a wonderful sense of humor. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.

Mr. McGowan was such a happy man. The time that I took care of him I will never forget. He always had me laughing and would sing to me. He will be missed.
Brenda - I'm so sorry for your loss. I hadn't seen your dad since high school but take comfort in knowing you will see him again and he is at peace now along side your mom.
Brenda He was a wonderful man and I really enjoyed talking to him during our holiday meals! Prayers are with you and yours and much love!
We all have people we look up to, some for what they do; some for who they are. Bob was one the special people. Most people looked up to him for both. I missed saying good bye - by about 48 hours. I am confident he knew I thought highly of him and his relationship with his family (all of us). While I was not 'close' as I might have been, I am deeply sadden by his departure. While he wasn't my natural Father, he never treated me as a step-son. May your ship always have full sails and untroubled waters.
Brenda and family, I never had a chance to have a strong friendship with your dad but every time I saw him or was able to have time/conversation with him he was an extremely funny man and loved to talk to him. I could tell he was a strong faith and belief man. I have said it before but his character reminded me of my father so much. I know your going thru some unpredictable emotions right now but you are truly in our prayers and you know we are there if you need us. Once relatives but always friends and "partners in crime". Sincere love and compassion going out to you all.
Tiger, I will always remember your father as a man of principle & strength, of morals & values, and a man who gave very good advice. I have some very fond memories of spending time with you and your family, and fond memories of some nice talks with your father. I know that he is proud of you, and will always be proud of the man you have become. I will miss you Mr. McGowan...you were one of a few good men.
My father taught me about loyalty , honesty and family values, to always give more then you take . He always gave me the freedom to be myself but instilled in me the most important factor of a mans life , integrity. It saddens me to say I know no man other then My father to have all of these qualities, I am not perfect but I know my Father is proud of knowing His son will strive for perfection always in his honor. To always help those in need .To never be a fool in being with the crowd in lies and theft. I LOVE the values You gave me Dad . I hope and pray to Yahweh I will make you forever proud.
