Lucille Virginia Smith, 83, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Agape Senior Center in Conway, SC. She was the beloved wife of Don Smith for sixty-two years.
She was born July 29, 1929 in Hershey, PA, the daughter of the late Wilbur G. Proctor and Jessie Wine Proctor. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Proctor and nephew, Steve Proctor.
Lucille was a member of Hummelstown Methodist Church in Hummelstown, PA and a graduate of Hershey High School class of 1947. She especially enjoyed being an active member of the planning committee for many class reunions. Lucille was employed by the PA State Department of Highways; however, being a homemaker and mother was her real joy. Her love and devotion for her husband and son gave her much fulfillment and happiness. Her husband was a college coach for 34 years and she was his life coach and partner for 62 years. She kept him on the winning road each day of their marriage.
Survivors include her husband, Don; her son, David Smith and his wife, Anne, of Williamsburg, VA; sister-in-law, Winnie Proctor of OH; brother-in-law, Lee Smith and his wife, Gloria, of NJ; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, July 20, 2013 at McMillan-Small Funeral Home, Myrtle Beach, SC with Rev. Dr. Howard Hanson officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Agape Hospice, 223 Laurel St, Conway, SC 29526 or First Presbyterian Church, Building Fund, PO Box 1306, Myrtle Beach, SC 29578.

Very sorry for your loss. Grew up 1 block from HCC and practically lived with you, John Tellet and Dick Yuengling. So very grateful and appreciative for your guidance and direction. Thoughts and prayers with you, Smitty.
