I remember Don on Colony Ridge and riding bikes past his home and then going to Arundel High. He was always friendly and willing to help a hand. He was very kind to my handicapped brother, Arnold. A well remembered teacher, neighbor and friend.

Yes, I would have eventually graduated Arundel High School, but I graduated on time, because of Colonel Barger. I thank him, and may he Rest in Peace.

Incredible life for an incredible man!

What a wonderful man. I had the honor of having him as a math teacher, and later an Assistant Principal at my school. He achieved the near impossible feat of taking someone who thought she'd never succeed in that subject, and having me come through with a high B. His sense of spirit and encouragement were wonderful and made all the difference. Back then, I had little knowledge of his past achievements as a member of "the Greatest Generation". Just reading your loving obituary has been enlightening and touching. It's wonderful to learn now that he had such a loving and devoted family. My sincere condolences to you all. He is remembered fondly by so many that he taught and led at Arundel High School.
