I worked with Steve Landstra for two years. As a fellow car enthusiast, we talked about cars all the time. He introduced me to the world of racing and helped me experience a life long dream. Lainey, I am sorry for your loss.

I grew up not too far from the Landstra's, down Cascade Rd., and Steve and I shared a couple of the same elementary school teachers. So very sorry to hear of his passing. Praying peace over your family during this difficult time.

Everyone at the many track events looked up to Steve. I was always thinking that I hope Steve would be there when I was on my way to an event. I for one will miss Steve.

Deepest heartfelt condolences to Steve's family. The checkered flag was waved far too early in the life of this truly lovely gentleman.
One of my life's peak experiences was riding with Steve at VIR. A big, stupid grin was plastered to my face for the entire ride (and I would not be surprised if Steve's passenger seat is still marred by the impressions of my fingers as I clung to it at 165 MPH). Steve's joie de vivre was infectious, his kindness was unparalleled, and his driving prowess was legendary. Not surprisingly, his absence from track-related events was always noted.
Steve deserved a much better final lap in the very remote future. We take quiet solace in the certainty that he has joined his dear friend Frank Gonzalez in racing around that exquisite track in the sky. RIP No. 23.

So sorry to hear about Steve. We grew up across the street from each other ANC played golf, I think. He just friended me on FB, which I hardly ever check on.
Leslie it's been a long time, 40 years. I'm thinking of you and your mama. RRS

I grew up down the street from Steve and his sister, Leslie. Steve was always so kind when I was a child. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the people who cared and loved him for the man he has become.

Dear Steve, although I met you only one time and talked on the phone with you a couple of times, I felt like I had known you for a lifetime. Your wonderful, kind, gentle persona shone through right away and I knew you were one of the "good guys". Gerry and I loved you immensely and are heartbroken you are no longer with us. We will remember you for the rest of our days. May you "rest on the wings of an angel in Heaven" Steve. Love you buddy!

I didn't know Steve well, only through Elaine, but I feel I knew him. We were first "introduced" when she called him from a nautical company outing we had in SanDiego, saying "I have a fellow Sparty I want you to meet", so we chatted about MSU and western Michigan, where I grew up, so I feel like I knew him and had that connection. I have a heavy heart, knowing how well Steve and Lainey got along and cherished each other. And for Steves family and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. God Bless you all.
