I am saddened to hear of Paul Ruperts passing. I have a couple of Paul's paintings in my home.
My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.
My deepest condolences. I spoke with Paul before Christmas and have been meaning to drop off a calendar at your door. I was with Mare today and she told me the news. I was shocked. I still am. Paul was so down to earth and funny and an amazing artist. I have an original that belonged to my Dad and many prints. I can not believe he is gone. Bless his soul and your family.
I was at Beaurepaire United, the church was packed, there were no more seats, Paul was so loved, I was crying, and I will cry again, for I loved the man and I loved his paintings and his love of nature and the world. Please God hold him tight in your bosom for all of us on earth.
To Paul's Family
I crossed paths with Paul a number of times over a 40 or so year span with very fond memories and want to express my deepest condolences to all his family.
To Agi, Max and family,
I am still in shock after hearing of Paul's passing. We shared many laughs over the several years that Paul coached Erin (Air Bear) and Max. I wish I could have been there to give you my condolences in person, but I am working in Toronto now. I am so happy that I have several pieces of Paul's beautiful artwork, they will continue to be an homage to him in my home on my special Paul Rupert wall....I am so truly saddened by this sudden loss of such a great man, Agi,I wish you strength and peace in this difficult time, just know that my thoughts are with you and the family.
Both Rachel and I were in total shock on learning on the passing of Pau and would like to express our deepest condolences to all the family. He and Olly were fixtures on their walk thru the neighborhood - he will be sorely missed.
My sincerest condolences to Paul's family and friends.
I got to know Paul over the last 4 years. We would have great discussions when he brought his faithful companion, Olly Bear in to see me for his check ups. A tremendous kindness shone through Paul's eyes and I was always enthralled by the stories he would recount. He left a lasting impression on me. The world is a whole lot poorer to have lost such a talented, compassionate man. Wishing all those he left behind the strength and courage to get through this difficult time. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Lisa Prevost, m.v.
Agi ......My sincere condolences to you and the family.
I first met Paul when he was a Montreal Star delivery boy and my Mom was the Dorval depot lady on Lepage Avenue, in the late 1950s. We lost touch with Paul. Then, in about 1968-1970 Paul used to give me lifts home from SGWU at least until the day we walked to where he had parked his motorcycle, only to find only a few links of chain on the ground. (bike stolen)
Life has a way of taking us in different directions.
Daily, I enjoy two of Paul's original works that remind me of his incredible talent. I will always treasure them.
I am so sorry.
I have known Paul since grade school; he lived two blocks up from us in Dorval; we played a bit of golf together in those days!
I was not in the country when Paul died and just today found out about it when his obit was posted on the LHS reunion message board. Your legacy will forever be with us in memory and on canvas. Condolences to everyone.
My condolences to the family. He will be remembered in my home with his paintings
My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this terribly sad time. Paul and I attended High school together some 50+ years ago and I so thrilled when I learned about his wonderful painting career and have been following it ever since. I was very fortunate to have been able to meet with him and sit down for a catch-up a year or so ago and will now value this few short hours even more. He was a very talented man and he will be missed by so many.
God bless and may He give you strength to get through this painful time.
Dear Agi and family,
My deepest condolences on the death of a wonderful person. Paul was a great friend and will always be remembered through his paintings and the many wonderful times we spent together.
My heart ached for you when I heard about Paul. Although I never met him, your eyes always lit up every time you mentioned his name ... I am so very sorry for your loss.
My deepest condolences on the death of this very talented man. Will remember him with many of his paintings which are in my home.
To Paul's family: my wife and I are deeply saddened to hear of Paul's passing. We were his neighbours back in 1975 in Dorval. That year I had the privilege of helping Paul issue and frame some of his earliest limited edition prints (Dominion Square and Windsor Station). The last time we talked was back in 1986 and I had hoped that we would someday be able to reconnect. Please accept our deepest sympathies.

Nina and I send our condolences to Agi and the whole Rupert family. We are still in shock and disbelief on the passing of our dear friend of over 40 years. A great example of his fine work hangs in our home with pride and will be a constant reminder of our friendship. Paul: you were a good man and we are proud to have been you friend.
I wish I were there to give you a hug. My Dad enjoyed his times with Paul and after Paul joined the club, I was able to appreciate why Dad enjoyed him as much as he did. My wife and I are reminded of him always as he did several wonderful paintings of our children. I am in Australia for a few weeks and will call you upon my return. Sincerely, Corey McHugh
Theresa and I are deeply saddened by this unexpected terrible news. Although we did not see Paul often, he was a dear friend and always generous with his art work when we needed something for our charitable work. Paul, may you hit them straight wherever you are!! You will be missed!!
Dominic & Theresa
One only had to glance at a painting by Paul Rupert to be 'blown away' by his extraordinary artistic talent and upon meeting him his overwhelming generosity of spirit.
It was the mid 70's when Barbara Lewis of Gullivers dropped unannounced into our offices at 2 Bloor St. west, Toronto and invited us to view an exhibition of his work and meet the artist himself in the foyer of our building at Bloor & Yonge. We couldn't resist the opportunity and the rest is history. Over the years we have become the proud owners of several paintings, prints and reproductions. All adorned our offices and now in retirement proudly the walls of our home.
We have never forgotten the down-to-earth genius called Paul Rupert who carpentered his own frames and seemed so unassuming of his own remarkable talent.
Our most sincere sympathies to his wife Agi, his sons and daughters and the hundreds of friends and acquaintances who were privileged to have crossed his path as were we.
God bless .......
Lee (Bourke) & Patrick Cudahy

Paul my longtime friend, I still frequently remember the fun and adventure you and I had in the high arctic in Panirtung and Clearwater Fiords on Baffin Island back in 1974. Your very keen observation of the natural beauty around us and of the people we met coupled with your sense of humour made it so exceptional. Will miss you always. Rest in peace.

It is with a heavy heart, that I wish to extend my deepest sympathies and condolences to the entire Rupert family. To my longtime LCC classmate and friend, Phil, your dad was just one of those special people you meet in life, that stay etched in ones memory for a lifetime.
I have fond memories of your dad being a proud and supportive parent, often cheering us on at hockey and soccer games throughout our years at LCC. I was lucky enough to bump into your dad at the RMGC 2 years ago, we had a nice chat about you and your sister, Maxine, who works at LCC.
Your dad was an incredibly talented artist, but even more importantly, he was an incredible human being. His ever present smile, humour and kind soul will be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, may you all find the strength to get through this very difficult time.

While we only saw Paul and Agi 2-3 times a year (over the past decade plus) on our visits to the Shapiro home in Montreal or Sugarbush, we will cherish so many warm and happy memories of those times. Paul's ever present twinkle in his eye, his quick wit and sense of humour and his wonderfully 'big' personbality will be sadly missed. Keeping you all close in our hearts and prayers.

Total shock to me this morning reading about Paul's passing. All I can say at the moment is that my prayers are with all of you.
Paul was such a nice man. I am honoured to have kmown him. May he rest in peace.
Rupes my friend, your warm smile, friendly banter, generous support and encouragement along with the insights from your discerning eye will always be appreciated, not to mention your incredible talent which is solely responsible for kickstarting my appreciation of art. Did I mention your wonderful Chinese cooking? You are and will forever be sadly missed, but very fondly remembered.
The Ruperts were lived across the street from us when the boys were growing up. I remember Paul's passion for drawing and his parents' wise decision to sen him to art school. We have all enjoyed the results of that decision. Canada has lost a wonderful artist. My sympathy to his family.
Dear Agi and Gang,
We want to express our deepest sympathy to you and the kids. Paul will forever be remembered fondly. He had a great impact on all of us.
Very sad, condelances to the family. Bob Hoare
Sincerest sympathies to the Rupert Family. Last August, I was fortunate to have Paul offer to replace an old print of the Dorval Train Station from the '70's. He kindly drove out to my home to replace it. He also knew my late husband quite well and we had many discussions about their time in Dorval. Rest in Peace, Paul.
Agi, Jayson, Vanessa, Maxine and Phillip,
Please accept our sincere condolences. We all have such fond memories of Paul coaching soccer so many years ago. It was a real family affair for all of you. Alan and I will cherish his gift of his painting of the Beaconsfield train station.

It is with great sadness to hear of Paul's passing. What an incredible talent and what a tremendous guy. His grin and lively demeanour will be sorely missed.
All my love,
Abi, I am not sure if we ever met, but Paul was a good friend. We played tennis at the West Island. Paul was a fierce competitor and I loved it when he was my partner. I saw him often at RMGC, but it was hard to crack his great group that played every Wednesday afternoon! We have some of his prints of the Golf Club which we will treasure.
We offer our sincere condolences on your very tragic loss. He will be sorely missed.
Paul will be missed greatly by our family. With heavy hearts we will say our good byes. We send our love and support to those left behind.
Dear Rupert Family,
My sincerest condolences on the passing of Paul. I did not know Paul personally but have admired his work for many years and own two of his prints. I am originally from Dorval, his rendition of the Dorval train station means a lot to me and it hangs proudly in my livingroom.
As a truly gifted artist and a kind person, he shall be greatly missed.
