thank you for the brightness you brought into all our lives.
I saw him in a movie on TV last night and remembered him from earlier movies. He was a very good actor and handsome. I was so sad to learned he passed away.
I am so sad that such a wonderful man is gone from us. I just recently learned of his passing. Shame on me for not staying more current. I enjoyed all of his movies. He brought a light to every character that just drew you in. We have truly lost a great one. He is deeply missed.
I am happy to see the guest book still open. I caught myself quoting some memerable lines from Adderly today at work and immediately thought of Winston. I recalled an old TV Guide article about the show, with Winston explaining how he had to learn to do things with one hand, like knotting a tie. I caught that scene in an episode. How clever...He used a filing cabinet! Regards to the family.
You were a inspiration to me thank you kind sir.
The first year anniversary is coming up of Winston's passing, i never met him but have crossed paths when he was filming neon rider, he was a rare actor that would've made me so nervous if i ever met him,i was a huge fan of Winston since Adderly, i always wanted to meet him but unfortunately god takes the kind and when i found out last year he was gone it was a shocker. i have a picture of Winston i bought from his Adderly days i will cherish always for a man who was kind hearted. god bless his family, i know in spirit he is with you.
Having received a message from Patricia Rekert via this site, I wondered how to proceed. It might seem discourteous to Winston's memory but this is not the intention - I've no other way of saying, Patricia, that if you would like me to send you the results of my family searches, please forward an e-mail address.

Meanwhile, we may bless Winston for bringing us in touch.

I have no memories of Winston - am but a very distant relative; but I've recently been lucky enough to trace a family I never knew I had (all over Canada). I still have a letter on my computer that I was planning to send to BC. Winston would have been a sort of cousin...My father, Reginald Stewart Rekert was the brother of Harry, Winston's father.

I can't, then, offer real condolences to Winston's family but, in my case, merely knowing that there is a solid, flourishing line of Rekerts still on the planet, I can truly say that 'No man is an island'. Indeed, one of the first tributes on this site was sent frm Lynette Zirk, a half-niece of mine (!) who appraised me of Winston's death but yesterday.

To the family - my best wishes. Winston is not forgotten (even here, where I live, in France: and, of course, I have DVDs). I hope that you don't think that I'm writing out of turn.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
Yesterday was 10 June, and even after 60 some years, I always remember that it is Winston's birthday. So Happy Birthday, Winston. Do they have cake up there? (Ed, your childhood friend)
One of the modest greats of our time. Good-bye V.H. and thank you for the years of memories and inspirations in 2 careers.
To Winston and family, I learned alot from his gifts of acting, especially Neon Rider. His character was so compassionate to both human and animal. I was saddened to hear of his passing, he will most definitley be missed; peace
Will always remember how kind Winston was to this "silly" fan, when myself and the pres. of his fan club were invited to the set of Neon Rider in the early 90s. I had such a "crush" on him, and yet he always sought me out when I would show up at one of his public appearances, and would make me feel so comfortable with his gorgeous, warm smile and twinkling eyes! Thank-you Winston for being the wonderful man you were, and always will be, in my heart! Go in Peace!
I will always remember Winston as a man with the love of life in his soul and a sense of humor. He will be missed. God bless and safe journey Winston.
lovely to spend quality time with Winston in his last weeks on this planet. The life that he took hold of and enjoyed, to its fullest.Old friends meet again. He was a real "Star". Thanks, Winston
I remember Winston as one of the young Mavericks - an exciting young performer who blasted onto the film scene and dazzled us all. He was always a class act in an industry that can sometimes be the opposite. Rest well Winston.
Remembering you from years ago when you did "The Blue Man" movie. Rest in Peace
What a wonderful human being. Winston you will be missed. It was a pleasure getting to know him while working on "Moonlight Becomes You", many moons ago in Toronto.
He always came across as one of the great ones. Only too bad he didn't decide to come south to the states.
Fell in love with Winston when I started watching Adderly. Have several movies on DVD's. There was something so honest and moving about him. My prayers go out to his family.
One of the "Good Guys". Peace dear Winston.
I crossed paths with Winston when he was filming neon rider, he was across the street, how i wished i would've said hello, i was too shy back then, he was my favorite actor. RIP you will be missed. Dianna,
Never knew Winston as an actor. Knew him for the last several years. What a sincere, lovely human being. We often met in stillness. He had such a strong urge to live from and in love and he put his attention to remove anything in the way of that.
You lived 3 doors down the street when I was a child and remember you well. Last saw you in the 80's and will always be amazed by your accomplishments.
what a lovely soul... we met in silent meditation, a loving man... so accessible... my good fortune to have him grace my table one memorable night, under the stars, with Lidija. How loved I felt! Thank you, Win.
So many years ago...still, I remember you.

Have known Winston (Teenie) since he was 2 years old, and through his teen years when he was one of The Dinks. Many memories. Like the time he brought a bottle of malt whisky over to me at my son's birth for drinking when my son was 21. We changed our minds and drank it there and then in the kitchen. Much love to my 'other' brother and his family. Ed (and Diana) Schuldt, Spain
You opened the doors for so many of us. Thank you for being one of the best friends this industry and city has ever had. Rest in Peace Amigo. Love Jay Brazeau

Winston had a great sense of humor and was so honest- incredibly straight forward. I didn't get to know him very well but I really enjoyed the time I did have with him. What an incredible human being with such a strong and amazing spirit.
Remembering the happy times we spent with Win & thinking of you all with much love and sympathy
