With deepest sympathy to the family during your time of sorrow. Psalms 46:1 says: God is for us a refuge and strength during difficult times. May God grant you the comfort to endure.

As a kid growing up I watched Arlen Specter's impact as a tenacious public defender who used his adversarial skills for the public good. In Congress, he plied the same trade, the same skills deftly, but always for positive purposes. In this, he is a role model for all.

A proud Jew, with a heart and historic mission, his family can find comfort in knowing that most of all, he was yours. He was ours, America's. A fine attorney who channeled his acumen, acuity of intellect, and debating skills for the betterment of society and the State of Pennsylvania. He is already missed, but his example inspires and resonates.

To: Senator Arlen Specter family,
You've lost someone who was a special part of your family. May you all find comfort in each other and in all the deep concern that comes to you today.

Sympathy & kindest regards to the Specter family & friends whomever & wherever they may be. God bless 1. God bless all. I met Shanin, Stephen, Joan & Arlen in 1964 when they visited Lock Haven, PA; he was a classmate of Alvin Snowiss of LH at U of PA. It was a special privilege to call this fine family my friends over the years. Like so many, I have many special memories.
The squash ball is in our court. Take care.

Thank you for taking the time to meet with me at your DC office when I was 17; it was an experience that I'll never forget.

What a strong advocate for a government, and soon when he wakes up he will be under a governmental rule that will erraticate all his sickness and make his flesh young again and no more mourning or pain anymore.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this diffucult time. Sen. Specter was a "champion of the people" who always put his constituents first and foremost. He was always brave in the fights he had to fight, showing so much perserverence and dignity. He was and forever will be "A Pennsylvainia Champion"

God Bless each of you,
The Smith Family
