Hey bro, just wanted to let you know I finally got my tattoo finished. It's got Mt. Rainier in the background, I know you wanted to climb it when we got back. I'm headed to Colorado soon, hopefully once I get there I'll be able to get some time off to come and see you and your family. Not a day goes by that I don't think about what happened. I want you to know that if I could trade places with you, I would. Love you bro.

To the family of Pfc. Neil I. Turner:
Neil gave the ultimate sacrifice and will be held in the hearts of Americans forever. I cannot and will not let our fallen heroes be forgotten. My deepest sympathy to you. "Some gave all."

Hi Sweetheart. Things just seem harder now eight months later. So much is happening here. I know that you know....We are trying to remain strong through all this awful news. I love you and miss you so much. You were my first son...the one that showed me that there was a love in me that I knew nothing about until you arrived. I wish so bad I could have bben there with you when you left on your final journey. I followed you to school on your first day. I watched ahead for safety wherever you went. But Neil, I could no longer follow you when you left for Afghanistan. And now...it seems so wrong...that you are somewhere that I haven't "checked out" yet. It just feels so wrong. You see...I should have gone first..not you. Anyway, I am taking care of things, Neil...like I promised. I am so proud of you. Love, Mom

Prayer Shawls 4 Fallen Soldiers (ps4fs@charter.net) is an organization with groups throughout the country who strive to send handmade prayer shawls and/ or lap robes to families who have lost a loved one in service to our country. Members of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, PA would like to honor your son's sacrifice and memory by sending our prayers and comfort through a shawl which we will mail to you. If you are interested, please contact me at gramman@comcast.net with the names and addresses and what they would like to receive. We will send them as soon as possible. Also, if you know of any other families who are grieving the loss of a loved one who died serving our country, please pass along my e-mail address, as our organization can no longer get family contacts through the military. May God bless you and comfort you in the days ahead. Sincerely, Lynne

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of Pfc. Turner and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of freedom and liberty. Sadly, America has lost one of its finest heroes, the U.S. has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage, which they will love and respect forever. Today, because of the sacrifice Pfc. Turner has made, the house of freedom is stronger, sturdier, and more secure.

To the family and friends, of Pfc. Turner, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to carry on. Just as you were always with him when he was deployed overseas, know that he will always be with you wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Pfc. Turner was a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

"Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid, they have earned our undying gratitude. America will never, ever forget their sacrifices."

Pfc. Turner the flag of the United States of America has your blood sewn into the fabric; it shall forever wave in your honor.

Freedom requires sacrifice the protected will never know.
