Sad to read about Sams death. He was a great mate with my Dad.
Belated condolences !

Very sad to read this news of our treasured friend Sam. Such a gentleman and so kind, always a funny story to tell. The last time I saw him was in the home in Nelson in 2012. His blue eyes still twinkling and his beautiful smile as charming as ever. Nelson will not be the same without him. RIP Sam -

I am so sorry to read this notice thi morning. Kev andI didnt realise Sam had passed. What an amazing man such a gentleman. We have fond memories of allthe family during the karting years at the Redwood track and through Kevins father Ted and the yachting days. In latter years I met Sam often when a rep for Nestle calling on Nelson City Fresh choice. We would have a good ole chinwag and catch up with what all the kids were doing in their lives...that he was so proud of...his family. Our condolences go out to all his family.

Sam was my granddad. I don't really know what to write. I'm sad that he's gone now. Even though for most of my life a great big chunk of land and the Tasman Sea has been between us, I am grateful that I did get the chance to know him, and that I learned a thing or two from his example. Sending my love to all my family and those affected.

Remember Sam as the 'village hero' when I grew up in Dunsandel. Inspired me to take up cycling and still do to this day.

I have fond memories of many good times with Sam, lots of fun and laughter.
Sad time for the family but I know you will treasure your memories of a terrific Dad; he was so proud of all of you. The most amazing thing about Sam to me, is that he never ever changed, he was always the same pleasant, lovely man whenever we spent time with him over the years.
RIP old friend.
