Bunyan C. Kelley

NEWARK: A Celebration of Life service for Bunyan C. Kelley, 92, of Newark, will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, with Reverend Dr. Michael A. Noble officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Licking County Veterans Alliance providing military honors.

Bunyan was born in Ardmore, Alabama on September 7, 1920 to the late Rev. William Kelley and Canzada (Wright) Kelley. He went to be with the Lord at Arlington Care Center on February 14, 2013 while surrounded by family.

Bunyan proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a devoted member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. He worked in construction for many years before retirement. Bunyan had a very contagious smile, never met a stranger and loved everyone he met.

Survivors include his loving wife many years, Justine (Garrison) Kelley; children, Lela Mae Peterson, Manuel (Betty) Turner, Bobby Kelley, Teresa Felix, Margie (Granville) Harris, Daryl (Sandra) Garrison, Margo Harris, John (Sherry) Harris Jr., and Tina (Keith) Scott; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 383 Washington Street, two hours prior to the funeral service on Tuesday, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Tina and Keith, sorry I didn't make your dads funeral. I'm still having pain and stiffness. I had a doctor's appointment on the day of the funeral. He gave me an injection in my knee and it still hurts. I inboxed you last week, but didn't hear back from you. You and family are in my prayers
