David A. Norris
LIMA: David A. Norris, 62 of Lima, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013.
He was born June 15, 1951 to the late Archie A. and Bonnie J. Hickman Norris in Newark, OH.
David was a 1969 graduate of Newark High School. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy. He entered the Navy in 1969 serving 21 years in the active military and then 9 years in the Naval Reserve, retiring in 1990. David finished his service as a E-9 Master Chief. During his time in the service he sailed completely 2 and a half times around the world. Some of the ships that he had sailed on included the USS AMPHION, USS HOIST, USS ELOKOMIN and the SUBDEVGRU ONE DET. Not only did David's career in the military see him through wars and conflicts but it also gave him the opportunity to serve with the Panama City, FL Experimental Diving Unit and the Pearl Harbor Clearance Unit in Pearl Harbor, HI.
After retiring from the military, David took a position P&G and had worked there for 23 years until his retirement in 2012. Some of his hobbies were fly fishing, golfing and camping. He dearly loved his golden retriever "Harley".
David is survived by his wife, Janet Hudak Norris, who he married December 27, 2002 of Lima, OH; three brothers, Dan (Janice) Norris, Medina, OH, Ed (Sharon) Norris, Frazier Bottom, WV, Fred (Debbie) Norris, Newark, OH. Preceeded in death by his parents.
There will be no local services. The family will be having a private family viewing. He will buried at sea off the coast of Norfolk.

I went to school with David from Wilson Jr High through High School. What a nice guy. He really found his place in the Navy. Please accept my condolences.

Scott was a good friend who always made you laugh. He was proud of his daughters and proficient in his work. He was always friendly to my family. He will be missed by many.
