We are sorry we were unable to attend Heather's funeral. Our family held our little service for our dear Heather, telling Heather stories, remembering happy times here in Mascoutah when Heather and family were our neighbors. We remember Heather's great generosity in time and spirit. Leah remembered how Heather helped her get through algebra, stopping whatever she was doing to help. We remembered Heather's wonderful home made pasta, New Year's Eve parties that were the best, our long walks, and much more. I still can hear Heather say, "Hey, Paula, let's walk". We were best friends and neither time or circumstance can change that. Our family laughed and cried together and ended with the worry that we don't know how your family will get through all of this. It is all too much to bear, but our prayer is that you will be as strong as Heather was. I know she is looking down on you and that her determined spirit will guide you through this desparate time. After all, you are all special because you have part of Heather inside of you.
Until we meet again,
With much love,
Paula, Dwight, Cari, Leah, and Elisa
