Al was a super person. I will miss him this summer at the helm of my pontoon boat. He had the biggest smile when he drove the boat around Portage lakes. He was quite the keyboard player. I loved to hear him play.

To all of Al's family: I am so sorry for your, and all of our loss. Summer of 2013 was our last day together at my brother's house on Portage Lakes where my brother Richie let Al "drive" the boat. He had a beer and Richie and he joked and laughed. Al and I met again after 40 years (I took him from homeroom at Collinwood High to his next class)when he was playing the piano at the Portage Country Club in Akron and I was looking over the program and saw Al's name. I couldn't believe it! I had thought of Al often over the years and here he was. I contacted him and over the next few years there were Whoppers at Burger King, cigarettes on the back porch and Al playing on the Steinway with Larry on bass, and that last cigarette before he went into Northhampton after I dropped him off. Also, many dinners with friends etc. I will remember our dance together at the 45th class reunion. Dear Al. He will be sorely missed. Lillian Custer and Larry Hunsicker and, my brother Richie who always made Al laugh!

Dear Diane,

My most vivid memory of your brother was when I was at your house when we were in the 9th grade. He was playing the piano. I do not recall the name of the piece but I still recall the wonderful music he played. He is playing for a much bigger audience now. God needed him for His special orchestra.

May He comfort you and your family with peace and grace at this difficult time.

In His Love,
Alma Babuder

Al was a friend to all who knew him. He was my classmate at Collinwood and a talented musician.
