Dr. Overs was my Honors English teacher at Bedford High School in 1965. To this day, he is remembered as one of the favorite teachers we "students" ever had! On facebook just recently someone from the time period of 1964-1967 posted the question asking who our favorite English teacher had been. Dr. Overs name came up many times, after all these years! He was wonderful, brilliant, kind, and made us want to learn. We obviously never forgot him. I am so sorry for your loss.

I just learned of Dr. Overs' passing earlier this evening. I had the privilege of going to high school with Ned and Julie and in the process got to know Fritz and Sally during and after high school. Fritz (Dr. Overs to me) was a role model in our community. I am thankful to have known him. May God bless him with eternal peace. To Sally, Ned and Julie, my family's thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Sally, Ned, Julie, family and friends,
We are saddened to hear of Fritz's death. He was such a good guy with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye, he would greet every Painesville City employee. He supported the kids and staff by coming to events. We were so excited to run into him in Canton, OH just before Basketball Regionals. We also happened to drive by his NY home and he insisted we come in. He was always so gracious and made others feel better. He was a good Superintendent and good man.
With deepest sympathy. Love, Jim and Debby Dayton

Dear Sally,
I am very saddened to hear of Fritz's passing. I have missed seeing him at the golf course and often wondered if he was okay. You both were a pleasure to work with when we installed your stamped walkways at your house and I know he even helped us get some other jobs. But most important to me was he always had a smiling face anytime I saw him. When I was at the golf course or anywhere else, I will always miss that. My heart goes out to you and your family and I will never forget his smile and kindness. God Bless you and your family through this difficult time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

My deepest sympathy to the family. Not only was he the superintendent when I was in school he proudly and personally handed me my diploma when I graduated. Being a close neighbor he made me wonder if in fact I would graduate on time or even graduate at all. I am sure he kept my parents wondering also. Always a smile whether we were at school or while he was supporting us in one of our sports endeavors. Always seem to supports us students and neighbors.
