Kit R. Luoma, 87 of Burton Ohio passed away January 12, 2018 at UH Geauga Medical Center. He was born November 4, 1930 to the late Solomon Luoma and Evelina (Hile) Luoma. He served honorably for the US Army during the Korean War. He worked in the production department of Air Maze until his retirement. Kit was known for his support of the Berkshire High School football team, was treasurer of the Touchdown Club, and loved to listen to the Fort Huntsburg Band. He served a term as Trustee for Burton Township, enjoyed the Monday auction on Nauvoo Road, loved fishing, and made high school football his hobby. Kit was a ""professional Wal Mart shopper"" and probably had his own personalized seat at Linda's restaurant. He was also the ""chief landscaper and bottle washer"" after the yearly Maple Festival.
He will be greatly missed by his sons Tracy (Connie) Luoma and Kevin Luoma, his brother Ed Luoma and sister Anna Hollo. He is survived by six grandchildren, Chelsea, Casey, Cassidie, Cennidie, Meadow, and Jaxon, as well as three great grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his dear wife of 47 years, Evelyn A. Luoma, and brothers, Mart, Emil, Gus, Wayne, and William Luoma.
Calling Hours will be held at the Russell-Sly Family Funeral Home in Middlefield on Thursday January 18, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be Friday at 10 am at the Funeral Home with Karen Cico officiating. Burial to follow at Welton Cemetery in Burton.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Geauga County Dog Warden. 12513 Merritt Road, Chardon, Ohio 44024.
