Mr. Barber – My Friend
You contributed to 61 years of wonderful memories. Allowing my friends and I to play on your property. Football, Baseball, Golf, Sled riding you name it we did it.
Thank you for being such a kind person, you never once yelled at us for having a good time.
I learned how to drive a tractor, talk on your ham radio and so much more.
My parents and my friend's parents have all passed away, but they would have thanked you every day for those years you allowed us to play on your property, because they knew that we were safe and all they had to do to find us was to just look across the street and there we were.
I will miss you

I'm happy to have met and known Lou during my years in Lake County. He was a great guy, and a mentor to many of us starting out in amateur radio back then. Like all from "the greatest generation", he will be missed.

Lou Barber W8SSI. What a great guy. Loyal friend, distinguished Navy veteran, mentor, teacher, neighbor & helping hand to many. Lou supervised building my first Ham radio transmitter from scratch 50 years ago. See you on the other size Lou.
