So sorry to hear about your loss. We were recently talking about some memories with our old friend, "Digger". Sad to think we had lost touch. Condolences to his family. Rich and Janet Eskelin

We just learned of Dave's passing today and wanted to let the family know that we are saddened to hear of his loss. My first husband, Joel Shellhammer, raced with Dave and Wayne at Raceway 7 in Conneaut in the early 70s and had many enjoyable times. After Joel died, I married Larry Willis who also knew "Digger" as we called him when he ran the garage/repair shop on Rt. 20 in Saybrook. Our sincere sympathies to you and family. Larry and Phyllis Willis.

The most compatible, compassionate, and caring person I could ever had wished to spend so many great years with my mother. Whether it was art, mechanical, welding, or anything else he did, he always overachieved and was a master at anything he did. A hard working, caring, funny, honest and brilliant person, who always left an incredible impression with anyone who got to know him. Beyond the best friend, teacher, mentor, person, and most of all, dad I could ever have imagined.

You will always be loved, missed and remembered.
