Funeral Mass for Ralph A. Lastoria, age 83, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor.
Mr. Lastoria died Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Hospice House in Cleveland.
Born Oct. 22, 1930, in Wickliffe, he had been a lifelong resident of Lake County.
Ralph retired in 1992 from Central Transport as an owner/operator semi-truck driver. He had also worked for Landstyles, Inc. for 11 years.
He was a member of the National Guard and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he was a Sergeant First Class, serving during the Korean War. Ralph was a 1948 graduate of Wickliffe High School, where he and his wife Regina became high school sweethearts. They were married June 2, 1951, and had just celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. He enjoyed playing the accordion, woodworking and was an avid Browns and Indians fan.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Regina (Cherrison); children, Michael (Kim) Lastoria of Concord Township, Debra (JT) Browne of Willoughby, Patricia (Jim) Phillis of Eastlake, David Lastoria of Mentor and Brian (Carolyn) Lastoria of Brandon, Fla.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Mary Lastoria; siblings, Pat O'Brien, Tom O'Brien and Mary Flynn; nephew, Michael Flynn; and granddaughter, Jennifer Lubecky.
Friends and family will be received from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
The family would like to acknowledge gratitude to the staff of Hospice of the Western Reserve and Hospice House for the wonderful care they provided.
