Our deepest sympathy in the passing of Mr. McZeir. My mother, Flora Settles, and sister, Brenda Thompson both worked for him. My husband worked at the Convention Center while Mr. McZier was there as well. He was an ICON in DC and a kind and thoughtful person. He will be missed.
We are so sorry we missed being there for the family but please accept our condolences. Please take care and if we cross paths with Mrs. McZier, we will be honored to see you again. I am still at Howard University.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Art. He was one of the kindest people I have ever met. It was an honor to know him, however briefly. A truly beautiful soul.

Dearest Family, I just found out through my mom, Patricia Kimbrough that Art has graduated from our world and am sure is continuing to spread his infectious happiness, charm, grace, and love. Traveling through DC, I occasionally find myself on upper 16th and think of your wonderful home and reflect upon those times when Art and Dad were seemingly transport themselves back 60 years when their street educational was particularly savvy and their moxie propelled them into considerable successes. All my best to the family and if I am in town, I would love to attend the Washington memorial service. I would like to know if there is more information regarding the 2 charities so my family and I can make a donation. Blake Kimbrough, [email protected], 703-346-7268.

Sincere condolences from myself, Jean Cornelius Barnett. Mr. McZier and my father, Samuel Cornelius, were great friends for many years. The laughter they shared was infectious. Mr. McZier was such a kind soul. His visit to my father while in nursing care was unforgettable. His presence will be sorely missed by many people.
