Funeral Services for Mother Edna Carthon, 102, New Smyrna Beach, who passed Tuesday, April 30, 2013 in Titusville, Florida, will be 3 PM, Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Apostolic Faith Temple, with Bishop Robert B. Thomas, Pastor, presiding and Elder Haywood Evans, Pastor, Refuge Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, delivering the main eulogy. Interment will follow in Glencoe-Geiger Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5 – 7 PM, today (Friday, May 3) at Apostolic Faith Temple and from 1:30 PM until service time at the church on Saturday. Mother Carthon was born, October 16, 1910 in Tallahassee, Florida to the late Albert Davis and Lucy Bentley Davis. She met and married the late Charlie Carthon of whom she was married to for 69 years before his death. She was a member of Refuge Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ where she served as a Church Mother, an Altar Worker and on the Missionary Board. Mother Carthon was also preceded in death by a daughter: Frances Ross; a son-in-law: John Rutherford; and two grandchildren; Anthony C. Nichols and Deborah Fisher Jones. She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters: Carlene Adkins (Rufus), Richmond, Virginia, Pansy Rutherford, Titusville, Florida; five grandsons: Charles McDaniel, Matthew Rutherford, Micah Rutherford, Thomas Dozier (Claudia), Dwain Rutherford; four granddaughters: Lefonia Boyd (Howard), Selina McClendon, Sebrena Clark (Lamar), Kanisha Adkins; 29 great-grandchildren, 58 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other sorrowing family and friends.
