Crossing the Bar

Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,

But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.

Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;

For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crost the bar.

I don't usually read the obituary section but this morning I noticed Ezra's name and had to look twice as I was in disbelief. I left the Criminal Justice work world over 10 years ago but would still bump into him and check in on the family as I knew some of his siblings. What a sweet, sweet man he was. He reminded me of a big teddy bear. It was always nice to see him and chat for a bit. I'm overwhelmed with sadness by this news and will pray for strength for his family.
