So sorry to hear of Mike's passing. Just heard about it today. Please contact me when you can.
WE just heard today about the death of Mike. His family and ours have been friends since the Pittsfield Days.
Sorry to hear the news.
My heart broke when I heard the news. I hadn't seen Mike in years, but still considered him a good friend. I think anyone who met Mike wanted to be his friend. He had that way about him. Prayers to all his family and friends. Sail On, brother.
Our prayers & thoughts go out to your family on your passing. We know your participation in the Scca events here at the Speedway will be missed by everyone in the SCCA organization you competed with on the track.
"Pillow and bankey (blanket), goin' on a trip!" You always sang that when Mom and Dad would load us into the station wagon for some excursion. You will always be fundamentally part of who I am and my life. I will always miss you, my funny, smart and happy little brother!
I worked with Mike at Crane Cams for many years, when I left on medical leave, Mike never forgot me. Everytime I called and asked for his help he was always there. Our trips to the band shell will never be the same. Your kind heart and willingness to help will be missed.
When your house was being rebuilt after the flood we joked and called you millionaire Mike You were like a kid in the candy store, you wanted it all.
If a man is measured by the friends he makes you really will be remembered as "Millionaire Mike". Miss you always, Fred & Peg Henderson
Friends at MMHS Patient Accounts sending our sympathy with love and prayers for Mike's family. Peace to you all.
I am praying for the Covello family and for all of Mike's friends as you remember him both at the morning funeral and at the evening celebration of his life. I'm sorry we cannot be with you but am in Colorado with my family. Mike was well loved and respected in the SCCA racing community and literally finished his race in life and on the track. We look forward to celebrating his life at the track soon. God bless you! Chaplain Steve Kearney, Motorsports Ministries
To the Covello family and friends of Mike I extend my heartfelt condolences on the untimely passing of Mike. I felt that I knew Mike as a close friend through my son Paul and the time we spent together when they raced "The Longest Night" at Moroso Speedway in 1996. It was God's will to take him to himself in heaven but only fitting that he let him finish his race. May the family take solace in knowing he was highly respected and a friend to many.
Our thought and prayers for Mike's family and friends. Our son Terry was one of his good friends. So sorry. Judy & Jerry Jarrell
Michael will be missed very much by many people. I loved him dearly. I still find it so hard to believe. He was a great man and his laugh was contagious. Rest in peace my dear friend.
Please accept my deepest sympathies for the loss of your wonderful son, brother and uncle. As you all know, I met Mike but twice, but what a positive impression he made on me! I so looked forward to spending time with him and getting to know him fully. Rest in peace, Mike.
I will always keep all the good memories I have of him and all his family close to my heart.
Though I haven't been in touch much with the Covello family, I will always have great memories growing up with their family. All of you hold a special place in my heart. I always thought Mike was a great guy and I had enjoyed fb book chatting with him now and then. My favorite memory of him will always be the day the UPS guy delivered a package that said it contained a live creature. He just had to know what Mike had ordered. It was a baby Octopus for his aquarium. I miss his sense of Wimsey as who else would have mailed ordered an Octopus. :-) He will always be loved and missed and I will always hold my memories of every one in the Covello family close to my heart.
MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO THE ENTIRE FAMILY, MIKE WAS A GREAT PERSON ALWAYS WOULD GO OUT OF HIS WAY TO HELP YOU, WHETHER HE KNEW YOU OR NOT. HE WAS AN AUTOMOTIVE GURU, HIS KNOWLEDGE OF CARS AND MUSIC MADE PEOPLE HAPPY. WHEN I HAD MY NISSAN AND THERE WAS A PROBLEM, JUST ASK MIKE, AND HE WOULD KNOW WHAT TO DO, HE WAS THAT GOOD! I WAS ABLE TO HEAR HIM AND THE BAND PLAY MANY TIMES, I WILL MISS THAT FOR SURE. I ENVY OUR LORD, NOW HE HAS ONE OF THE BEST AUTO GUYS IN HEAVEN. PLAYING A LITTLE MUSIC UP THERE AND KEEPING EVERYONE SMILING LIKE HE DID HERE ON EARTH. WE WILL MISS HIM, EVEN THOUGH WE ARE AT A LOSS WITHOUT MIKE THERE IS A LITTLE PART OF HIM LEFT IN ALL OF US. MAY HIS MEMORY BE ETERNAL. JOHN SPIRIDES / SOUTH DAYTONA, FL
Mike was one of my first friends when I moved here over 30 years ago. In the early 80s we worked together at Nissan during the day and helped build Ray Kesslers race cars at night. Over the years we kept in touch mostly through racing or seeing each other at a track. He had a lot to offer this world and was taken away too soon.
God Speed Mike.
Our family is so saddened to hear this news I have such fond memories of Michael as a kid so full of life and daring he will be missed .. In this difficult time please remember we all love you and wish we could comfort you in person .. We love you all and pray for comfort and strength

Absolutely, a guy that would give you the shirt off of his back. I will always remember how honest, reliable and nonjudgementle he was. EVERY time we got together we laughed. One day our life will flash before our eyes, make sure its worth watching...Mike sure did, thanks for the memories my friend. You left a big hole.
I always will remember his smile and laughter. I have known his sister for a long time and we spent a lot of time together growing up. I am so sad to hear the news and am sorry for his family.
I'm truely sad to hear this tragic news. Having just met him, just a short two weeks ago. I saw how kind and passionate he was a person he was. He never once hesitated to give me his wisdom and insight into the racing world. You will surely be missed.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
Sorry to hear about Michael.....My thoughts are with him and his family.
Mike was truly one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He will be missed.
Uncle Al, Leslie, Sandy, Debbie and also your families and friends, Paul and I are so sad and sorry that Mike has passed on. Kristin, Nancy and I had such a good time in his company the last 2 years at the Palm Coast for Thanksgiving and at Cape Cod and Boston the year before. Every day is a mystery and we need to make the most of it by showing our love and respect to each other. We love you guys so much and wish we could be with you during this overwhelmingly sad time. Take care of each other and yourselves. Love, Joan and Paul

You will be missed my friend. We were all so happy to have you back in the shop with us again. I will miss your sense of humor the most! We still tell all the stories from the "old store". Too many memories to list.
May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. Mike will be missed by all that knew him. God Bless.
We're shocked and saddened at Mike's passing. He's been my friend and co-worker over some 30 yrs since our early days with Nissan. He was a great guy and a friend to everyone he met. It was a privilege to know him and work with him. I'm so glad I had a chance this week to have some good conversations with Mike. The memories of good times will not be forgotten. My wife and I send our thoughts and prayers to Mike's family and friends.
