We just heard that Bill died in January. We are New York State cousins of Bill's wife Maureen who passed away last year. We knew Bill ever since we were young and he and our cousin Maureen were courting. We kids use to follow them around as we giggled and watched the handsome young couple. In later years, sometimes visited them at the Hooper home in Farmersville or at the Crystal Lake cottage for swimming and rowing. So sad we have lost both Bill and Maureen. We send our condolences to the family.
Bill was a terrific leader and great humanitarian . Some might say he was, "a sailor's sailor." RIP
I thank God Bill and Maureen were part of my life. They were family to me and I loved them both. Bill's wonderful smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed. I think all of us that knew him can surely say he did it his way.
I am so glad to have known your dad. He was a smart, good man of very good humor. I was blessed to have known your parents, both of them were special people. I loved them. I hope that you keep their memory alive, and share your memories. Sympathy and Love to you all and his grandchildren.
He will be missed dearly, he was such a fun and loving soul. I'm sure he's so happy now with the love of his life.
We only met Bill once but what a friendly interesting man. We grieve with his family, especially Jim and Diane Cottrill.
