I am the manager at Marcell Garden Apartments and we were so very lucky to have Josh as one of our residents here since 2015. He was always a pleasure to be around. He was kind and caring to every member of our staff and always offered a kind word or helping hand to each of us. As a policeman he always paid extra attention to anything we might need help with safety wise. He was extremely kind to the other residents in this community. We will all miss him as he was such a great example of how a human being should treat others. So kind and gracious always. We are going to have new lighting added to the front of our community and dedicate it to his memory as I feel it is most appropriate. He was a light in the lives of all of us and he made us feel safe. The lighting will light our path into our community at night and add to everyone's safety. We will always remember this wonderful man. Our deepest condolences to his entire family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Yvonne -- I'm thinking of you as your family honors the legacy of Josh, a great American by all accounts.

We remember holiday celebrations with the Parker family. Josh and brother Steven wrestling on Grandmother and Grandfather Parker's living room floor when very young boys. And Grandmother Diane making his favorite no-bake cookies. We remember his soft, easy manner, while still recognizing his inner strength. We will keep going on our week-end Sunday visits to Stone Mountain, NC - one mission there is to search the clear water flowing down the mountain for just the right rock we will send him - adding to his collection. We don't think Josh really cared why we sent him those rocks - we do know that his mom found them tucked into a corner in one of his dresser drawers.
Now THAT'S a Josh memory!

Josh came in our lives and for such a quiet young man left a big impact. We were lucky enough to have known him since the third grade. We watched him grow up and become a great respectful young man. We followed him through his Army career. He has touched our lives and we are better because of it. We will miss his layed back style. He always had a smile and cared for everyone. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. I know that he is looking down with a smile. Forever missed!

We were heartbroken to hear of this tragic accident. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family, friends, and fellow officers. Josh lived nextdoor to us and we will miss seeing and speaking to him. He was a wonderful, and brave young man. Thank you Josh for your service & protection. RIP.
