Carl Hammond Obituary


Carl David Hammond,"Red", joined his wife Kathleen "KAT" of sixty-three years in Heaven on November 7, 2017. Red is survived by his son David L. Hammond of New Smyrna Beach, FL; his three Grandsons: Andrew Hammond of Los Angles, Timothy "Jason" Hammond of Houston; and Sean Roth of New York. Red had one Great Granddaughter, Kaitlyn Hammond-Meneses "Alex" and Great Grandson Robbie Tailor and soon to be born Great Great Grandson Carl Hammond-Meneses; and his many friends. Red served in the U S Navy during World War II, before returning to Knoxville, Tennessee where he married Kat in 1949. Red loved to square dance, listen to Elvis, fish with his Grandsons, and collect things. Red collected lost golf balls by the thousands. Red spent his summers in Dandridge, Tennessee and his winters in New Smyrna Beach. Red was an avid cross stitcher and he passed this on to his Grandson. Red was a member of the Dandridge First United Methodist Church and the Coronado Community United Methodist Church in New Smyrna Beach. In lieu of flowers, Red would like donations made to: Halifax Health Hospice, 4140 South Ridgewood Avenue, Edgewater, Florida 32141.
