Yesterday I saw a sticker on a Dodge pickup for Vinnie (Call-sign) Del Guercio and wondered if this was my friend from the Brevard County District 1 Station 3 Volunteer Fire Department. We made many a fire call together back in the early 80's. You just didn't want to be in the hot seat of a brush truck he was driving. :) After he left the department I would occasionally run into him when he responded to one of our signal 4's. We did see a lot of each other when he joined KSC's security force as he usually worked gates I had to use daily. I remember when he left as he told us he was heading up to Volusia County and that was the last time either my wife or I saw him.

Sorry to hear of his passing, he was taken way to soon.

Vincent it has taken me a while to accept that you will no longer be here. Your gentle heart will be missed so much. I have so many memories of your gentleness and kindness. My heart goes out to all who knew you and now have suffered your loss.I know the Gates of Heaven were opened wide to accept you. God has chosen you to make lives better and now he needed you home. We will miss you and we will always love you my gentle nephew.

Each family member has a special place. You were almost always smiling, except for those times that you got hurt and needed stitches. You loved your family and when young, you seemed to seek out kids that others wouldn't play with. You were a good friend to them. As kids, I remember getting in trouble together and being sent to our rooms, only to fly airplane notes across the hall. As you grew older, you remained attracted to helping others, and you went into the fire department field. While in the police line of work, you gave me / us, many helpful pieces of advice, support and guidance, which made a huge impact. Sometimes we forget about times long ago, but as for more recent times, I will not forget. I will not forget your love, your generosity, or compassion for others. Thanks for being the kind of little brother that anyone would be proud to have. Everyone that I knew that met you, they liked you. Karen, you are his love, his wife whom he loved beyond words. Although your time together was all too short, may you be comforted by the way you were loved. I will continue to keep you in my prayers. May God keep you safe and may he be your rock that comforts you. We love you. Love, Robert, Lisa, Nicole, Matthew, Jayden, Azura & Avery

There are no words adequate enough to express what we feel about Vinny. Know that we loved him and the time spent with both of you we will always cherish. Karen know that you will never be alone and that we will always hold you close in comfort and prayer.

Vince, I want to say thank you for loving my dear friend, your presence made her laugh, smile and and truly she knew she was loved. I know that things are going to be hard, and we don't know the path or the plan that is before us, but know that she and your family is loved and even though you will be watching over them,we will too. Rest in peace and comfort Vince. P.S. please say hello to Grady.
