Bill was like a father to me, always loving kind and had a great humor about him. We had great memories with him and our families traveling to the keys, lobstering. Snorkeling, visiting the mountains. Full of life and the life of the party. Many amazing great times and will forever be in our hearts. Thank you for being that amazing person and touching our lives. We were truly blessed to call you friend and my other dad:) love you always and miss you forever until we meet again <3 Heidi Hales-walker

I'm sorry to hear or your loss of Bill Champion on Nov 1st. Bill worked for me when he transferred from the fire dept to the police dept. Bill took his new position seriously and became an excellent police officer. I could always count on Bill making good decisions in the field. He was instrumental in training police officers assigned to his platoons in fire fighting techniques. He was also highly respected when he worked for the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.we will miss Bill.

To Cindy, Karl and Becky: We are truly sorry for your loss. When I saw your father & (father-in-laws) name immediately all the stories we have heard of Bill Champion were funny, serious and I know a learning experience for some. He truly enjoyed his life and his family. A loss of a parent is difficult no matter the circumstances. It will take time and Cindy please call me if you every want to just talk. I lost my own father in the 1980 and I still miss him. Please give my heartfelt sympathy to your entire family. We will pray for all of you for strength.
