I worked with Dean at the Post Office and always felt like he was really a nice person! We also knew David his Son and he took my husband and 2 sons up on a airplane once. They really enjoyed that and always thought David was a fine young man. Sure hated that he lost his life so young. Pray that his wife and children are doing well!!

Irene, Matthew, and Michelle,
I am not sad for Dean, because I know he is in Heaven with Mary Lee, I am saddened because I just now learned of Dean's passing. My husband and I would have been at his funeral. We thought the world of Dean! I had known Dean for about 15 years, through the Uke Band, he and Mary Lee directed.Every Christmas we had a Christmas party for the band, at our house. Even after Mary Lee was unable to direct the band, and since her passing, we have always set a date at Christmas time to have a meal with Dean.He enjoyed riding in the old Chevy pickup, our old Nash Metro, and we even have a picture of him riding an adult trike, at 89 yr. of age! Dean was a Godly role model, a sweet man, a war veteran, a hero! We exchanged Christmas cards and letters, but due to my husband being ill most of Dec., we did not get to have our annual Christmas meal. I had Dean on my mind off and on this week. Then I was just told today that he had passed away. I would give anything to have visited with him one more time! I will see him again in Heaven someday! Until then I have the photo of Dean riding the trike, in my dining room hutch,he is smiling, and I remember him laughing!
He loved his family and really enjoyed his Sundays with you all, and playing Mexican Train, I believe that was the game!
You have a great heritage in Dean Lantz, a great man!
