I worked with Dr Harris in surgery 20 years ago. He was always pleasant and easy to work with. Sorry for your loss
Dr. Hugh was a great Physician and friend. I remember when he started at St.John's. He would always get his surgery patients up for the first time by himself, to see how they were doing.
He will be missed by MANY!!!
Thank you for showing me what it means to be an uncle. You did a great job.
Please accept my sincere sympathy for the entire family. I was a patient of Dr. Harris for several years. I have always thought him to be a very kind, patient, and very gentle man. He always showed utmost concern with my hand problems, and used his considerable knowledge to help alleviate the problem. I always felt when I left his office that I had had special care. I definitely will miss him. "May God Bless and Keep your family!"
I am so sorry for your loss, Hugh was kind and gentle man and was a great example of a doctor, a nurses dream to work with. Our lives are richer for having known him. My prayers are with you and your family.
I knew Dr.Harris only as the surgeon who repaired my severe wrist fracture sustained during the ice storm of January 2007.
But in follow-up visits, and a few brief encounters around town, Dr. Harris was so kind and caring and considerate. He shared stories of his retreat in the woods, and from those, and reading his obituary, Dr. Harris sounds as if he was a wonderful man to know.

I have thought of you often since our "chance meeting" a couple of months ago at the post office...you taught me to "find joy in the wait". My deepest sympathy to you and your family for your loss....Dr. Harris was the exception to the rule. He was gentle, kind, patient, and a great teacher.
I am so sorry for your loss. I really enjoyed working with Dr. Harris at Walnut Lawn Hospital

I had a pleasure of getting to know Hugh as my physician. He is such a wonderful caring man and was wonderful at what he did. I will always be grateful I got a chance to meet him and have him care for me. He was such a caring man and cared for his patients on such a personal level. Thanks for everything you did for me.
