To the Family of Richard Stolp,
Prayers are with you during this time. Your father was a kind and gentle soul, who encouraged others to dream the impossible dream. As a youngster I knew him as a pastor with whom my mother served on staff. From this, I recall his love for the music of Man of La Mancha and his soft, steady voice and humor and deeply thoughtful demeanor, among the most gentle personas of any person in my memory. His faith has put him with the Almighty now and the way he lived and taught his faith has shared the good news with others. It has been fully three decades since those days in Peoria when he was an influence in my younger years and at least 27 years since he drove my brother and me around a sleepy little Springfield, Missouri to show us how tourism seemed to be taking hold. And did it ever! We have not spoken over the years, but this does not lessen my gratitude for his kindness, his friendship with my family, and his life fully lived. God bless.
