Donna and I both came to Suncoast Middle School the same year. Even though we taught different grades, we taught the same subject which was math. Suncoast had one large faculty room, so we all got to know each other very well which made our faculty more like a family. Donna was a great family member; always energetic; full of creative ideas; helpful to her fellow teachers; and a wonderful gift to her students. I enjoyed working with Donna in the math department.
I was disappointed when Donna left Suncoast, but her new opportunities were exciting and she seemed very happy. I was able to keep track of her until the late 1990's. Then I did not see her again until a few months ago when she joined a few of us retired teachers for lunch. I was excited to see her and so glad she was going to be able to meet with us monthly for lunch. I was looking forward to renewing my friendship with her. Before our next lunch, she was in the hospital and we did not meet again.
Donna was so much more than this obituary or the even the wonderful comments written in this Guest Book. Her legacy is how she affected each one of our lives and how those affects live on in all of us lucky enough to have known her at various times in her life.
I'm glad I got to see you one more time after losing touch for about 12 years. I will miss you, Donna. You are in God's hands now, and He promises no pain or suffering. Praise be to Him.
